Infection ControlIn these days of concern about the spread of infectious disease, we want you to know that the protection of our patients is the top priority in our office. We do everything possible to assure the sterility and safety of our working environment.
This is our commitment to you.
We follow the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control, the National Institute of Health, and the American Dental Association. We continually review updates of infection control materials and techniques so that we can achieve our goals by using the newest and best methods.
We continually work on our patient protection systems. Between each patient, the treatment rooms are thoroughly cleaned and wiped down with surface disinfectants. The instruments are put through ultrasonic scrubbing and then wrapped and sterilized in a large, pressurized steam autoclave. Since we wrap our instruments, they are never touched again before the actual set-up in a treatment room. Gloves and masks are always used. Handpieces (drills) are always sterilized. Prophy angles (the polishing cups we use during cleanings) are disposable for single use only. We use other disposable products whenever possible to eliminate cross-contamination. We disinfect our waterlines and use distilled water while we work.
We hope that by increasing your awareness of what measures are being taken to insure your protection, that your trust and confidence in our team will make your visits more comfortable.
